Privacy
We keep as little about you as we can.
- Newsletter. If you sign up, we store your email, first name and optional ZIP code to send The Morning Edition. We never sell or share it. Ask us any time to delete it.
- Contact form. Messages are stored for the newsroom to read, with the sender's IP address to fight spam.
- Reading counts. We count page views per story to show "Most Read". No cookies are set for this and no profile is built.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to learn which pages and clips people read and watch. It sets cookies and Google receives your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies.
- Gifts. If you reserve a gift, we store your name, email, ZIP code and the amount so we can send you the secure checkout link. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see your card number.
- Your settings. The print-size and contrast buttons are remembered in your own browser only.
- Outside services. Fonts load from Google Fonts. Links to Instagram, Facebook, campaign donation pages and other sites follow their own policies.
