Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026

Your voting plan

13 days to go. Five steps, about ten minutes, and you are ready.

  1. Check that you are registered

Rolls get purged. Check your registration with your state today at vote.gov, the official U.S. government site. It sends you to your state's own page.

  2. Decide how you will vote

Mail ballot, early in person, or on Election Day. Every state has early voting or mail voting of some kind, and deadlines differ. Your state election office lists them; find your state or local election office.

  3. Voting by mail? Send it back early

Sign the envelope where it asks, follow the witness rules if your state has them, and mail it a week before the deadline or use an official drop box. Many states let you track your ballot online.

  4. Know what to bring

Some states require a photo ID, others do not. Check your state's ID rule before you go. If anyone tells you that you cannot vote, ask for a provisional ballot.

  5. Bring a friend

Offer a ride to a neighbor, a sister, a friend from church. Most people who skip midterms say nobody asked them.
