In the Minnesota governor debate between Klobuchar and Demuth, Amy Klobuchar says her opponent has called the tariffs effective for the state. She cites a 13% drop in exports, a 20% drop in Canadian visitors to restaurants and hotels, about $700 a year in higher individual-marketplace premiums and 8 million people losing health care. She calls Demuth a rubber stamp for Donald Trump whose ads she says are 80% paid for by a Wisconsin billionaire.

Minnesotans are well aware of what's going on here with these tariffs that my opponent has said are effective for this state. What? We've seen a 13 % decrease in exports. We've seen a 20 % decrease of people from Canada just coming over to go to our restaurants and go to our hotels, particularly in northern Minnesota. What have we seen with health care? We've seen 8 million people tossed up their health care. Your premiums going up something like 700 bucks a year for people that are on the individual marketplace. It is very clear that we need a governor who is not a rubber stamp of Donald Trump and we need a governor that's gonna focus on you and not just do the bidding of a billionaire from Wisconsin that's paid for 80 % of her ads. And that is time.
