U.S. House — New York's 17th District · First run

Cait Conley

A West Point graduate and Army combat veteran who later directed counterterrorism at the National Security Council, Conley won a crowded June 23 primary. She is challenging Rep. Mike Lawler in a Hudson Valley seat Harris narrowly carried, one of Democrats' top pickup targets.

On the ballot against Mike Lawler (R)

Why it matters: Lawler holds a Hudson Valley swing seat that Cook rates a Toss-up, and the district could help decide which party controls the House.
