U.S. House — Minnesota's 1st District · First run

Jake Johnson

Jake Johnson is a Rochester high school math teacher who won the DFL primary with nearly 82% of the vote and is challenging two-term Republican Rep. Brad Finstad. Outside groups have put more than $2.5 million into the race, mostly opposing Finstad, and both parties now view it as competitive.

On the ballot against Brad Finstad (R)

Why it matters: Republicans have held this southern Minnesota seat since 2018, and a Johnson win would flip it.
