At a CBS News town hall, a voter says he's now paying $4.33 a gallon for gas and asks what isn't being done to bring back the previous Trump administration's prices. He says he plans to vote for El-Sayed in the upcoming election and asks why he should vote for Mike Rogers instead. Vance thanks him for his "support in 2024," says "I'm Vice President because of it," and concedes "gas prices are too high right now."

in Detroit, and now I'm paying $4 .33 a gallon for gas. And I wanted to know, what aren't we doing that we could be doing? be doing to obtain the previous Trump administration's gas prices. And also, I plan on voting for Al -Sayed in this upcoming election, and I want you to know why should I vote for Mike Rogers instead. Okay. Well, I really appreciate that, man, and I appreciate the question and obviously the support in 2024. I'm Vice President because of it. And I think it's important to be honest about why they are so elevated, and there there are a few different things going on.
