U.S. House — Colorado's 8th District · First run

Manny Rutinel

An attorney and state legislator, Rutinel won the June 30 primary for one of the country's most closely divided districts, north of Denver. Forecasters have rated the seat a toss-up since it was created, and he is challenging first-term Republican Rep. Gabe Evans.

On the ballot against Gabe Evans (R)

Why it matters: Gabe Evans flipped this seat in 2024 by 2,449 votes, less than 1 percentage point, and both parties see it as a race that could decide control of the U.S. House.
