At a South Carolina debate, Annie Andrews says 21 American service members have been killed and $50 billion in taxpayer money has been spent on the war. She ties the war to record-high gas and diesel prices that she says are crushing farmers. She says her opponent, the only one on stage who could vote to end it, voted three times to continue it and later admitted national security "isn't really her thing."

Already 21 American service members have been killed and we recently learned that eight sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln tried to commit suicide. We've also spent $50 billion in American taxpayer dollars on this war. Again, money that could have been invested in our infrastructure, healthcare system, or public education system. And the war is the exact reason we now have record high gas and diesel prices. Farmers are getting crushed and everything costs more. My opponent is the only one on this stage who had the opportunity to vote to end the war, but three times in a row she voted to continue it. And several days after one of those votes she had the audacity to walk out onto this stage and admit that national security isn't really her thing.
