On Late Night, Seth Meyers plays a clip of Donald Trump, during a trip to Wall Street, saying he won by talking about groceries and that prices are "gonna start coming down." Trump then tells a story about an old woman who put one of three apples back after seeing the price. Meyers takes apart the details, starting with apples kept in a grocery store "refrigerator."

During his trip to Wall Street today, Trump tried to claim yet again that he didn't win because of his proximity to rich people. He won because he talked about kitchen table issues like groceries. Prices are gonna start coming down because people can't afford their groceries and they're gonna be affording their groceries very soon. I tell the story about a woman who, an old woman, an old woman, no money, went to a grocery store, had three apples. She put them down on the counter and she looked and she saw the price and she said, would you excuse me?" And she walked one of the apples back to the refrigerator and came back to pay for the two apples. And she left with two apples. And the woman at the counter said that was so sad. And when I heard about the story, I said that should never happen in America and it's not gonna happen in America. You know what doesn't happen in America? Grocery stories don't keep the apples in a fucking refrigerator. Story has more holes than it, than the final season of Lost.
