U.S. House — Maine's 2nd District · First run

Matthew Dunlap

Matt Dunlap is Maine's state auditor and a former two-time secretary of state. He won the June Democratic primary in a ranked-choice count and now faces former Gov. Paul LePage in an open seat that most forecasters rate as leaning Republican, with polls showing a close race.

On the ballot against Paul LePage (R)

Why it matters: Maine's 2nd District is an open seat that Donald Trump carried 53.5% to 44.5% in 2024, and Republicans see it as a top pickup opportunity while Democrats are defending it as one of 23 Trump-won districts.
