U.S. House — Florida's 22nd District · First run

Pia Dandiya

Pia Dandiya is a former teacher and school principal who won the Democratic nomination on Aug. 18 over Kaysia Earley, with 68.6% of the vote. She faces Republican Casey Askar in an open, redrawn district that Trump won 55%-44% in 2024. Cook Political Report rates the race a toss-up, while some other outlets rated it Lean Republican in early September.

On the ballot against Casey Askar (R)

Why it matters: The seat is open because Rep. Lois Frankel is running in the 23rd District, both parties have it on their target lists, and it could help decide the House majority.
