U.S. House — Michigan's 4th District · First run

Sean McCann

Sean McCann is a Democratic state senator from Kalamazoo and a former Kalamazoo city commissioner. He is challenging Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga, and Cook Political Report moved the race to toss-up, though Huizenga won the district by nearly 12 points in 2024.

On the ballot against Bill Huizenga (R)

Why it matters: Democrats are trying to flip a seat Republicans have held for decades, and a McCann win would be the first Democratic hold of the office in more than 90 years, according to Michigan Public.
