At Todd Blanche's attorney general confirmation hearing, Sen. Adam Schiff pressed him on the decision not to defend the IRS and the Justice Department. Blanche confirmed, "We made the decision to settle the case." Schiff said that made Blanche the lawyer for both the president and the government, and that the court found the case was a sham with a collusive relationship. Then he asked what happened to the prosecutor who once respected the rule of law.
