At his election night rally in Louisville, Morgan McGarvey says the night is "about decency over division." He tells of Ann, a constituent working two jobs whose health insurance went up over $1,000 a month under "this administration's plan," costing more than her mortgage, and Amy, a barber who dropped coverage because she couldn't afford it.

This is a big night, but this is not about party. This is certainly not about me. This is about us. This is about decency over division. This is about compassion over cruelty. It's about cohesion over corruption. It's about Ann, who called my office. She works two jobs. She's an independent contractor. Her husband owns his own business. They have a son with disabilities. Their health insurance went up over $1 ,000 a month under this administration's plan cost more than her mortgage. This is about Amy the barber who told me that she just doesn't have health insurance anymore because she can't afford it. Her plan is to hope not to get sick, which is not a plan at all.
