U.S. Senate — Florida (special) · First run

Angie Nixon

Angie Nixon is a Jacksonville state representative and labor organizer who won the August 18 Democratic primary over Alex Vindman, who had outraised her. Polls in early October showed Ashley Moody ahead by anywhere from about 2 to 10 points, and Cook rates the race Likely Republican.

On the ballot against Ashley Moody (R)

Why it matters: The winner serves the final two years of Marco Rubio's term, and the seat is up again in 2028; Florida has not elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since 2012.
