At a campaign event, Annie Andrews recalls an eighth-generation South Carolina farmer she met in Barnwell, who told her the family could lose their farm in a year or two if nothing changes. She says the farmer "needs a voice in Washington, DC." Andrews also describes a lifelong Republican and 26-year Marine veteran in Myrtle Beach who told her he had just made his first-ever political donation to her.

And I keep thinking about an eighth generation South Carolinian farmer who I met in Barnwell a couple of weeks ago who told me she's worried their family will lose their farm in a year or two if nothing changes. She told me it cost $1 ,900 to put diesel in her tractor. $1 ,900 that lasts about three days. She needs help. She needs a voice in Washington, DC, just like that little boy I met. I keep thinking about a lifelong Republican 26 -year Marine veteran that I met in Myrtle Beach. He came to one of my events because his neighbor made him come to one of my events. And after I spoke he walked up to me and tapped me on the shoulder and said, I just made my first ever political donation to you.
