In 2008, I watched a guy named Barack Hussein Obama run for the presidency. He won Michigan twice. And it was the first time I ever saw anybody who looked at all like me in politics. His dad immigrated from Africa. My dad immigrated from a different part of Africa. He had mixed parents. I was raised by my dad and my stepmom, Jackie, a daughter of the American Revolution in the middle of the state. They said he got a funny name. I got a funny name. He's stalling skinny and well I'm 5 '8". So when they tell me, but his name's Abdul though, I remind them his name was Barak though. This election can be an inflection point.
