In a CNN interview, Glen Whitley, described as a Texas Republican ex-judge, rejects claims that the case against Paxton is hearsay. He says Paxton was charged with security violations, reported to the FBI by his own senior staff alleging bribery and abuse of office, and impeached by the Republican-controlled Texas House. After meeting James Talarico, he says Talarico "will make us an excellent United States Senator."

Well, Boris, thanks you for having me on today. I believe him to be the most corrupt politician that Texas has ever seen. Uh, you're one of your recent people on line said this was all hearsay. It's not hearsay. He was charged with security violations. His senior staff turned him into the FBI, uh, alleging bribery and abuse of office. He was impeached by a Texas Republican controlled House of Representatives by over 80%. His wife filed divorce papers because of biblical reasons. And that's just a few of the things. These are not hearsays, these are facts. And so I knew that I could not support Ken Paxton when we came out of the primary. I did sit down and talk with James Talorico and after spending some time with him, I feel like he will make us an excellent United States Senator.
