On Late Night, Seth Meyers takes a closer look at Donald Trump on the midterm campaign trail. The bit plays on a clip of Trump saying no president has ever worked so hard on a midterm and that he's "working like a dog," and an ally saying Trump calls him around 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.

All presidents hit the campaign trail for midterms, but Donald Trump isn't really hitting the campaign trail. He's just kind of falling on it with a big old splat, like a birthday cake hitting the pavement face down. But execution isn't what he and his buddies are worried about. Don't focus on the insane things he's saying. Focus on how hard he's working and how little he's sleeping. The one thing I can say is that no president has ever worked so hard on a midterm. Nobody's ever campaigned like I have for midterms. I'm working like a dog. I work almost as hard as this guy. I try to keep up with me. He doesn't sleep at all. You understand that? The man calls me at, like, 1 o 'clock in the morning and also at 5 a .m. Mikey, you sleeping noser? Of course. Sleep is for sissies. We know... No, no. Sleep is for sane people. It isn't healthy to sleep two hours a night. Just ask your health secretary. I mean, he's a lunatic, but I bet even he sleeps eight hours a night, even though from the looks of him, It's probably on the top rack of an air fryer.
