At a confirmation hearing for a US Fish and Wildlife Service nominee, Whitehouse says Park Police are making arrests around the Reflecting Pool. He quotes the president's claim that vandals cut a gash with "some form of knife or blade," and says the damage doesn't seem visible to anyone else. Asked for proof, Whitehouse says, the president pointed to the parks department and the secretary: "I saw it. We have pictures."
