Speaking in Baltimore, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said the goal was "not just about engaging the base, it was about enlarging it." He said he did over 30 fundraisers and put over $1.2 million of personal campaign funds into down-ballot candidates, and that nine seats flipped from red to blue, from Frederick to Wicomico.

No, what one thing that I really want to do is this was not just about engaging the base It was about enlarging it. It was about going everywhere and since I've been the governor We've now made over 1 ,100 stops all over the state of Maryland from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore If you look at what we've been able to do to support down ballot candidates, which was important to me You know, we've now done over 30 fundraisers personally for down ballot candidates now put over $1 .2 million of personal campaign funds into down ballot candidates. And already we have seen that we have flipped nine seats from red to blue from Frederick to Wacomica. Right? So we're really excited about the results that we've been able to see. And again, this, you know, the days of governor's legacies ending when they leave office, those days in Maryland, they're gone.
