On the Senate floor, Senator Whitehouse says a falling out between Trump and Epstein was at least partly tied to a 2004 bidding war over a Palm Beach mansion, which Trump won for $41.3 million. Four years later, after modest renovations, Trump sold it to Russian billionaire oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev for $95 million, at the time reported as the most expensive residential property sale in US history. Whitehouse says the oligarch never moved in, "which brings us back to Russia."

But we know the falling out was at least in part related to a bidding war between Trump and Epstein over a Palm Beach mansion in 2004. Trump won and purchased the property for $41 .3 million. Just four years later, and after modest renovations, Trump sold the mansion to billionaire Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev for $95 million. At the time it was reported to be to be the most expensive residential property sale in United States history. Pretty stellar investment for Mr. Trump. The oligarch for his part after paying the 95 million dollars never even moved in. Which brings us back to Russia.
