At a hearing, Adam Schiff tells Jack Smith that Patel made a "plainly false" argument under oath: that none of the agents who worked for Smith were fired for working on the Donald Trump investigation. Schiff says Patel "will face consequences" for claims like that. Smith says it's more important that "we stop vilifying public servants."

No. You heard them attack you a lot, right? I did, but I'm not really concerned about that. It's much more important that the public servants who I work with, that we stop vilifying public servants. Well, I agree with you completely. I mean, I've seen how they've been vilified. I heard Kashpatel sitting where you're saying, sitting where you're sitting, make that plainly false argument that none of the agents who work for you were fired for working on the investigation of Donald Trump. He actually bade that claim. That is just patently absurd. And there will be a time when he will face consequences for making claims like that under oath.
